Event Report
You Can Still Watch if You Missed It!
Dear friends,
I’m happy to report that Keith Green 28.28.28 was a huge success! It was seen in over 40 nations, and many took off work early or got up in the middle of the night to watch it LIVE – in places like Iceland, Korea, and the UK. I hope all who tuned in felt the presence of the Lord as much as we did in Hawaii. I think it was a perfect blend of remembering who Keith was and what he stood for – and honoring the God of all glory – which we all determined to focus on.
One viewer, Gerry, wrote me and said, “Tonight as I was listening to 'Oh Lord Your Beautiful' and Keith tell of the condition of his own heart, I was so able to identify. I saw how even though I wasn't doing anything wrong, it's just that I wasn't doing anything and my heart grew hard. Thanks be to God of great grace and mercy, He broke through and the tears of repentance broke through as the Lord broke my heart.”

I believe the anointing and the power of the prayers is alive and will impact anyone who watches with an open heart, at any time. God is doing something great around the world and it’s exciting that LDM got to play a part in His calling to greater boldness and deeper intimacy. Let’s all grab hold of what God has for each of us and "go for it" like never before!

A Challenge to all Worship Leaders, Christian Artists and Musicians for Jesus
Music or Missions?

For as long as he could remember, the late Keith Green's greatest dream was to be a musical success. After he gave his life to Jesus, however, he felt the need to surrender those aspirations. Ironically, when sometime later he sensed God was directing him to pick these abilities back up, his music soared straight to the top of the contemporary Christian charts. The following message was birthed out of his personal struggle to strike a balance between music and missions, humility and fame.
 Today, so many people ask me if I can tell them how they can start or enter into a music ministry. At concerts I get countless questions about this, and I also get lots of letters and even some long-distance phone calls from many people who feel they are only "called" into the music "ministry" One day I began to ask myself why so few have ever asked me how to become a missionary, or even a local street preacher, or how to disciple a new believer. It seems everyone would prefer the "bright lights" of what they think a music ministry would be, rather than the mud and obscurity of the mission field, or the streets of the ghetto, or even the true spiritual sweetness of just being a nobody whom the Lord uses mightily in small "everyday" ways.
Are You Willing?
My answer to their question is almost always the same. "Are you willing to never play music again? Are you willing to be a nothing? Are you willing to go anywhere and do anything for Christ? Are you willing to stay right where you are and let the Lord do great things through you, though no one may seem to notice at all?" They all seem to answer each of these questions with a quick "yes!" But I really doubt if they know what their answer entails.
Star Struck
My dearest family in Jesus...why are we so star struck? Why do we idolize Christian singers and speakers? We go from glorifying musicians in the world, to glorifying Christian musicians. It's all idolatry! Can't you see that? It's true that there are many men and women of God who are greatly anointed to call down the Spirit of God on His people and the unsaved. But Satan is getting a great victory as we seem to worship these ministers on tapes and records, and clamor to get their autographs in churches and concert halls from coast to coast.
Can't you see that you are hurting these ministers? They try desperately to tell you that they don't deserve to be praised, and because of this you squeal with delight and praise them all the more. You're smothering them, making it almost impossible for them to see that it's really Jesus. They keep telling themselves that, but you keep telling them it's really them, crushing their humility and grieving the Spirit that is trying to keep their eyes on Jesus.
Ultimately, what we idolize we ourselves desire to become, sometimes with our whole heart. So a lot of people who want to become just like their favorite Gospel singer or minister, seek after it with the same fervor that the Lord demands we seek after Him! And again, we insult the Spirit of Grace and try to make a place for ourselves, rather than a place for Jesus.
A Thankless Job
How come no one idolizes or praises the missionaries who give up everything and live in poverty, endangering their lives and families with every danger that the "American dream" has almost completely eliminated? How come no one lifts up and exalts the ghetto and prison ministers who can never take up an offering, because if they did they would either laugh or cry at what they'd receive?
How Come?
Because (1) we're taught from very early on that comfort is our goal and security… and (2) that we should always seek for a lot of people to like us. Who lives less comfortably and has had less friends and supporters than the selfless missionaries who have suffered untimely, premature deaths trying to conquer souls and nations for the whole glory of God? Do you really believe we're living in the very last times? Then why do you spend more money on Gospel records and concerts than you give to organizations that feed the poor, or to missionaries out in the field?
There are ministries all over the world where "penniless" people are being saved and transformed. They are broken people who have promise and qualities, but just need someone to bring them God's light during the times when their lives seem so completely hopeless.
I repent of ever having recorded one single song, and ever having performed one concert, if my music, and more importantly, my life has not provoked you into Godly jealousy (Romans 11:11) or to sell out more completely to Jesus!
Quit trying to make "gods" out of music ministers, and quit desiring to become like them. The Lord commands you, "Deny yourself take up your cross daily, and follow me" (Luke 9:23). My piano is not my cross, it is my tool. I'd never play it again if God would show me a more effective tool in my life for proclaiming His Gospel.[God gives us each our own unique tools. But we may never use them if we become more interested in someone else's. Seek God, ask Him for His plan for ministry (true, God glorifying ministry) in your life.]
Conclusion
To finish, let me say that the only music minister to whom the Lord will say, "Well done, thy good and faithful servant," is the one whose life proves what their lyrics are saying, and to whom music is the least important part of their life. Glorifying the only worthy One has to be a minister's most important goal!
Let's all repent of the idolatry in our hearts and our desires for a comfortable, rewarding life when, really, the Bible tells us we are just passing through as strangers and pilgrims in this world (Hebrews 11:13), for our reward is in heaven. Let's not forget that our due service to the Lord is "... not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake"(Phil. 1:29).
Amen. Let us die graciously together and endure to the end like brave soldiers who give their lives, without hesitation, for our noble and glorious King of Light.

His winnowing FAN in in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather His wheat into the barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire." (Matthew 3:11-12)

Fire or a fan. Get hot or cold. He's not interested in anything in between. Just as all computer code breaks down to a 0 or a 1, it's either one or the other. We haven't yet learned that obedience in Scripture is digital. (Only learning is analog.)
With God, doing what He says is either yes or no, never something in between. The guts and the glory of the gospel are tied directly to this kind of expected surrender. When Jesus speaks to people, He talks to them as if He expects them to leave everything and follow Him.
Poor Mrs. Zacchaeus. She looks out the window one day to see Jesus and the twelve disciples walking up the path toward her house, with her husband running just a few steps ahead. “Guess who’s coming to lunch!” he says excitedly. She’s excited too, but for a totally different reason.
As he comes into the kitchen, she gives him that look that every husband knows and hisses at him, “Zach! Are you crazy?! What do you mean inviting Jesus and the disciples for lunch without even bothering to tell me?” Then she shifts gears. “Oh, come in Jesus! It’s so nice to see you.” Then to Zach under her breath, “Why didn’t you tell me He was coming?”
“I didn’t invite Him,” says Zacchaeus. “He just invited Himself” (see Luke 19:5).
Who is this Jesus? He walks up to people who are just minding their own business and, without so much as an introduction, He calls them out of it forever. His sermon is not even a “three-pointer” – just two words: “Follow Me.” And how does He carry out the delicate task of follow-up and care for the new convert? Take a guess. “Follow Me.”
Who is this Jesus? He talks as if He owns the whole universe! He speaks as if what you do with what He says will be the most important thing you ever do in life. Who is this Jesus? He talks like He’s God or something.
You want extreme?
He told the rich young ruler to sell all he had and give it to the poor, that he would have treasure in heaven and to follow Him. The rich young ruler didn’t and dropped out of history (see Luke 18:18-23).
He told the woman at the well that if she drank the water He offered her she would never thirst again. She did, went back to her village and brought half of those who knew her back to Him (see John 4:1-42).
He told a deeply religious man, Nicodemus, that unless he was born again he would never see the kingdom of God. Nick braved the censure of his peers and discovered a new life (see John 3:1-8, 50).
He told those who followed Him that unless they ate His flesh and drank His blood they could have no part in Him. It is not recorded whether or not they thought He meant it only metaphorically or whether they thought He actually called them to be cannibals, but it is recorded that from that time, many went back and walked with Him no more (see John 6:48-66).
He told Peter, His disciple, exactly how He was going to die and then said, “Follow Me.” Listen to His words: “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me” (Luke 9:23).
He said there are only two roads, one that leads to heaven and the other that leads to hell, and that only a few would take the straight and narrow road, while many would head for the broad way (See Matthew 7:13).
He said that you could tell a tree by its fruit and that no normal tree puts out a mixture of good and bad fruit, no matter what theologians or psychiatrists may say (see Luke 6:43,44).
He told stories about sheep and lost sons to sinners who loved Him (see Luke 15) and asked religious leaders unanswered questions that made them angry (see Matthew 12:12-14).
He said a poor lady’s last coin was worth more than a whole wad a rich man dropped into the collection plate (see Luke 21:1-4), and that a weeping hooker would be remembered for wasting her life’s savings to pour perfume over His feet (see Mark 14:3-9).
He broke up every funeral He ever attended by raising the corpse from the dead. He raised a dead boy, a little girl, then a man who had been dead three whole days (see Luke 7:12-15; 8:41-56, John 11:11-44).
Then He did it all over again at His own funeral, even though the Romans had posted a guard and the religious leaders had sealed the grave with a boulder.
You want extreme?
No one in history ever was born like Jesus, lived like Jesus, talked like Jesus and loved like Jesus. Not even His enemies could find fault with Him. He defies comparison, because there is nobody else you can put in His class. Period. He split history in half. He not only claimed to be God, but showed His kingdom every way you can ask to anyone who really wanted to see it. When you come to Jesus, He doesn’t give you options or alternatives, just a core decision: “Follow Me.”
If you do, you are a disciple.
If you don’t, you drop off the map forever.
And that, my friend, is extreme.

Prayer Alert: Keith Green Feature Film

Hey everyone I am so excited!!
A feature film of Keith’s life is in development!
What is most needed RIGHT NOW is PRAYER.
Shortly after the plane crash, I knew someday there would be a movie about Keith. I’ve waited for over 25 years for the Lord’s timing -- for God to bring producers with the right hearts, the vision and expertise to take Keith’s story to the big screen.
I always had a specific vision for the movie… just as I did when I wrote Keith’s story in No Compromise. I want people to join Keith in his searching years and then track with us together on our journey to faith. It must be authentic -- and connect to both the heart and the spirit.
Keith and I as new Christians ...
The Screenplay is being written right now – so please pray for it specifically!
For the story line, the events shown, and the power of God to be woven into it.
Every film that is taken from a book is much more condensed than the book, so everyone involved needs great and specific guidance.
I know Keith’s story will be used in powerful ways to touch lives. I want it to accurately represent his life and ministry. Obviously there will be lots of great music too!
I just returned from our original LDM property in Texas, where I ministered at Teen Mania Ministries. One of the producers came for research and to film me sharing my memories at certain sites. It was an intensely emotional time for me, bringing back many memories. One moment I was laughing, the next, I was crying.
The two photos below show me in front of the farmhouse where Keith and I lived with our little children, as well as a photo of the headstone for Keith, Josiah, and Bethany.
This movie is a God-sized job that needs to be bathed in prayer… for wisdom, anointing, divine connections, favor in the industry, the funding that is needed, and much more.
I also need prayer personally, as I know this will be both an exciting and emotionally overwhelming project. I’m already feeling the weight of it...
Prayer is essential! When Keith recorded each of his albums, we had constant prayer in the studio, and at LDM. We also had intercessors praying during his concerts.
Along with everyone at LDM I'm serving to rally prayer and intercession. We want to see more than just a "good movie" -- we all want it to have a powerful anointing so lives around the world will be touched and transformed!

Report from HAITI
How Your Funds and Prayers Are Helping
February 24, 2010
Dear Friend, A big thank you to those of you who sent funds to the LDM Haiti Relief Fund. As promised, we have sent 100% on to Youth With A Mission Haiti for relief efforts. The media is reporting since the earthquake that 500,000 are homeless and there are about a million new orphans.1 As you can imagine, with such large estimates...the help Haiti needs is immense.
Feet on the Ground: Chuck's Report

On January 22nd, Chuck flew to the Dominican Republic, where he met up with his team of 20, loaded many needed medical and relief supplies, then drove into earthquake ravaged Haiti.
Once in Port-au-Prince, the team began working with the YWAM Medical Team who had set up a Clinic at the Police Headquarters across from the crumbled President's Palace.
As days progressed, Chuck’s team worked at the main clinic and also took Mobile Clinics into more isolated areas. Chuck estimates that in just a few weeks, their small team had hands-on involvement with 2500-3500 patients needing some sort of care. When possible, the team prayed with patients after treating them. The people were very grateful for both.
YWAM HAITI Playing Central Roles
YWAM HAITI has been in Haiti for 23 years, and has gained the trust of the Haitian government. The Haitian officials asked YWAM to run an Internally Displaced Persons Camp -- registering every earthquake victim, and giving each one an ID Card they need to officially qualify for relief.
As YWAM prepares for the next few months, they are planning both spiritual and physical care -- mobilizing teams to serve as evangelistic and pastoral teams, and working with the local churches.
New Openness To Jesus
Haitian pastors meet each week at the YWAM HAITI base to pray together asking God to give them strategies to best seize the new openness to Jesus surfacing among the Haitian people.
Recently the son of a Voodoo Witchdoctor gave his heart to Jesus and is out preaching and leading people to the Lord! And CNN news often shows people praising Jesus in the streets.
And when a YWAMer felt the urge to start preaching at a clinic, 30 people around him responded with genuine repentance. Obviously hearts are open in a new way.

In temporary “tent-cities” most people have become anemic and parents are reporting kids eating dirt, as their nutrition-starved bodies crave minerals. And strangers who’ve lost everything are living side by side, scrambling for bits of assistance as it comes.“I am so grateful that you’ve been a part of sending me to be of some help. The Big Task Ahead
It has rained a few times in the past week and the "rainy season" is near. More than just tarps over peoples heads are needed to prevent outbreaks of disease and other complications.
Life on the street is returning to “normal” with lots of activity, street vendors selling their goods, right in the midst of the destruction. No doubt people need and want things to return to normal.
Opportunity for Spiritual Change
Last weekend the HAITI government called for three days of prayer and fasting which replaced the first three days of the annual mardi-gras. This is a huge landmark in Haiti’s history!
YWAM was amazed to see the town square packed full of people. The entire crowd was singing and dancing in worship to Jesus with hands lifted high, as the church is using this time to repent before God for their nation’s and their own sins.
Long-term missionaries in Haiti say the spiritual climate has changed! That people are responding in different ways to the crisis and even the aid given. They say that rather than a sense of entitlement or a demanding nature, there seems to be more openness and gratitude.
Almost everyone is open to pray when asked. There is a tremendous opportunity for true spiritual transformation. A moment in time where the nation as a whole can embrace a new attitude toward God and reject false beliefs that have held them in bondage.

YWAM still needs our financial support, particularly as they endeavors to provide housing for thousands of people as the rainy season begins. They also will be posting regular updates on their site to keep us all informed.* Urgently needed are 8-10 person tents that will give shelter for 1-2 years during the recovery and rebuilding phases. Even as you receive this, the rains have begun. Can you contribute towards one?
* Also your gifts will buy food and medical supplies. As the media coverage for Haiti diminishes and moves on to other stories, we cannot forget these who God loves and wants to reach.
 Join me in praying that Haiti will no longer be a nation overwhelmed by poverty and corruption and for the Christians who are working in difficult and oppressive situations, that they would be strengthened, empowered and protected. The needs seem endless, WE MUST KEEP PRAYING! I believe the destiny of Haiti lies in the prayers and hearts of the saints.Chuck is now back home with his family, but will continue to do as much as he can to help in the relief effort. Please keep him and his family in prayer as well as he seeks God for guidance on their next steps.
